Menu Mishaps

The menus in Ecuador are, generally speaking, not well-translated. Most places don't have English on their menus at all, so I suppose I should give them credit for trying. Furthermore, it's undeniably obnoxious of me to make fun of anyone else for translating incorrectly - I pretty much do it all day long. However, there have been several mistranslations that I have happened upon that I simply cannot resist passing on. The following stand out above the rest:

Spanish: "Caldo de Bolas de Verde"
Translation: "Green Banana Balls Soup"
Proposed Correction: "Plaintain Dumplings Soup"

Spanish: "Bebidas Gaseosas"
Translation: "Gaseous Discard"
Proposed Corrections: "Bubbly Drinks" or "Sodas"
